The utilitarian design of this style does not incorporate a large bushing to absorb NVH (noise, vibration, & harshness) tailoring itself more to race or trail applications. 3-piece heims use a pressed in woven fiber liner infused with ptfe providing a durable quiet system in comparison to a 2-piece heim that tend to make a bit more noise during suspension cycle.
